Lito Malaggay is an Igorot artist who has transformed humble wires into extraordinary works of art. His sculptures are intricate and detailed, and they are often inspired by the natural beauty of the Cordillera Region where he grew up.

Lito's journey to becoming a successful artist was not easy. Lito Malaggay was born in the upland town of Boliney, Abra Province, Philippines. He grew up in poverty in a small village, and he had to work hard from a young age to help support his family. When he was young, he moved to Baguio City to find work. He got a job as a lineman's assistant, but the work was difficult and dangerous.

Despite the hardships, Lito never gave up on his dream of becoming an artist. He continued to experiment with wire art in his free time, and he eventually began to sell his work.

In 2015, Lito decided to quit his job and become an entrepreneur with his own business. He started by visiting private and government offices to show his work, but he was often turned away. However, he persisted, and eventually he started to get orders from businesses and individuals.

In July 2017, Lito received a grant from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The grant allowed him to set up his own workshop and to purchase the materials he needed to create his wire art. With the help of the grant, Lito's business began to grow even more.

Lito's wire art is inspired by the natural beauty of the Cordillera Region, where he grew up. He often incorporates traditional Igorot motifs into his work, such as the sun, the moon, and the stars.

Today, Lito is a successful artist and entrepreneur. He is known for his intricate wire sculptures, which are often inspired by the natural beauty of the Cordillera Region. He is also a role model for aspiring artists and entrepreneurs.

Here are some of the things that make Lito Malaggay so inspiring:

  • He never gave up on his dream, even when things were tough.
  • He is a self-made man who achieved success through hard work and dedication.
  • He is a role model for aspiring artists and entrepreneurs.
  • He is using his talent to create beautiful works of art that celebrate the natural beauty of the Philippines.
  • He is also known as the "Barot Man" because he often uses traditional Igorot weaving techniques in his wire sculptures.

If you're inspired by Lito Malaggay's story, here are some things you can do:
