Listed as one of the province's cultural properties (since it is more than 50 years old), it was duly submitted by the PLGU to the proper authorities such as the DILG, NEDA, NCCA and the NHCP. It's not declared by the NHCP as a cultural/historical landmark yet but who knows?
The white carabao became a Cultural Icon symbolizing KALINGA as the "RICE GRANARY OF THE CORDILLERAS"....
The said monument was constructed from funds raised during the Tabuk Municipality popularity contest in conjunction with its 1958 town fiesta, which was won by Miss Rowena Bagtang.
