Isang pulis at walong iba pa ang sugatan sa pagsabog ng Improvised Explosive Device sa bulubunduking bahagi sa pagitan ng Bauko at Tadian, Mt Province

KINUMPIRMA ng Police Regional Office Cordillera na nasawi ang isang pulis habang walong iba pa ang sugatan sa pagsabog ng Improvised Explosive Device sa bulubunduking bahagi sa pagitan ng Bauko at Tadian, Mountain Province kaninang hapon, April 2.

Ayon kay PMaj. Carolina Lacuata, tagapagsalita ng PNP Cordillera, habang nagpapatuloy ang hot pursuit operations ng tropa ng pamahalaan laban sa mga Communist New People's Army Terrorists ay sumabog ang IED na ibinaon ng mga papatakas na kalaban.

Nasawi sa insidente si PCpl. Marlon Casil na taga Kibungan, Benguet habang sugatan naman sina PCpl. Marcelo Bayeng, PCpl. Ramadick Meloy, PClp. Clifford Gama, PCpl. Edwin Keya, PCpl. John Calcaligong, Pat. Erwin Calixto, PSSgt. Salvador Agallatiw, at si PMSgt. Alphedes Alvaro.

Sa kasalukuyan ay nagpapatuloy pa rin ang operasyon ng pinagsamang pwersa ng PNP at AFP sa lugar.

Una nang inihayag ni Lt. Col. Narciso Nabulneg Jr., commander ng 54th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, na habang papatakas ang mga terorista ay sinusunog ng mga ito ang mga bundok maliban sa pagtatanim nila ng mga landmine.

Matatandaang nagsimula ang operasyon ng tropa ng pamahalaan laban sa teroristang grupo noong nakaraang linggo kung saan, isang pulis din ang nasawi.

Muling nanawagan ang mga otoridad sa mga mamamayan na makipagtulungan laban sa mga terorista na may makasarili at mapanlinlang na ideolohiya.
