91-year-old FEDERICO S. BENTAYEN of Balbalayang, San Gabriel, La Union finally earned his Grade 12 Certificate from BALBALAYANG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL in San Gabriel, La Union.

Bentayen had put his education on hold for 71 years after he attended Kalinga Academy in 1951 as a third-year student to prioritize work to provide for his 6 children and focused on supporting them accomplish their educational goals.

He is married to Leonida Tecne Angeleo of Tadian and Sagada Mountain Province. He worked and retired as a miner at WMC Boneng Mines, Atok.

He is also a very active leader in his church and a valuable member of their community.
