In this photo dated 1901, an Ibaloi woman carrying her child in typical thin blankets, or ebban/uban (sarong); an indigenous woven cloth.

In old times, a typical Igorota (Igorot woman) likewise expected to work along with the men while raising her children and does prepare food.

Thus though being pregnant, she still do chores following her husband to steep mountain fields to till and plant crops until they harvest them.

She do this, even carrying heavy loads on her head. She follows simple life in an Igorot village which was governed by the rule of the farm.
