MISTERS OF FILIPINAS 2016: Best in Ethnic Wear
Police Inspector Christopher Comicho Dulagan of Sagada, Mountain Province represents a "KALINGA WARRIOR".

The name "Kalingga" is believed to have been derived from the Ibanag word "kalinga" meaning headhunters; a name that the bordering inhabitants called this tribe because of their headhunting attacks. They are sometimes called the Peacock of the North.

The designer got his costume inspirations from the tribes of Ibaloi , Bontoc and Kalinga with modern influence but still uses significant materials such as KALASAG at SIBAT or the so called Shield and Spear. A combination of tapi and bahag represents the handwoven loin cloth called WANES and the wrap around called LUFID. Head gear , wooden and metal accessories are also used to complete the ensemble.

This ethnic piece is designed by Don Cristobal.
Fellow Cordilleran Darryl Gomez also landed on the third spot.
