Inigo Anton: Igorot Makes History as the First Filipino E-Racing Olympian!

Join the historic journey of Inigo Anton, an Igorot from Baguio City, as he becomes the Philippines' inaugural E-Racing Olympian.

Baguio boy Inigo Navarrete Anton, is the first FILIPINO Olympian to participate in the inaugural OLYMPIC ESPORTS WEEK in Singapore.

In the thrilling world of e-racing, Iñigo Anton, a young talent from the Igorot community in Baguio City, Philippines, is on the verge of making history. He is poised to become the very first Filipino Olympian in e-racing, and Singapore is gearing up to host the inaugural Olympic Esports Week from June 22 to 25, with all eyes on Anton.

Anton's journey began with a notable achievement: earning the title of Automobile Association of the Philippines Driver of the Year for racing. However, this was just the start. Now, he carries the dreams of his fellow Igorots and Filipinos as he prepares to make history.

Anton secured his place in this historic event by winning the Philippine national qualifiers in May. The Olympic Esports Week is more than a competition; it's a celebration of virtual sports and gaming, curated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Attendees will experience the live finals of the Olympic Esports Series 2023, engage in exhibition matches, and explore the latest innovations in the free-to-play zone.

Even after securing his spot in May, Anton hasn't slowed down. He has actively participated in national and international competitions, consistently adding victories to his remarkable journey. His debut in the Formula V1 Championship in Clark on June 9 and 10 was truly spectacular, securing two wins.

Anton's success isn't his alone; his team, Mark Young Racing, is making waves as well. They clinched the overall team award at the Kalayaan Endurance Race at the Clark International Speedway, dominating Open B and Class 3 in the six-hour races. Additionally, they secured the first runner-up position in Class 1 during another intense six-hour race. Their winning streak continued in the 12-hour race, where they achieved first runner-up titles in both Class 1 and 3, as well as Open B.

As the countdown to the Olympic Esports Week begins, all eyes are on Iñigo Anton. He's not just a racer; he's a symbol of unwavering dedication. This is a momentous occasion, a story of determination, and a testament to the power of passion. Get ready, gaming enthusiasts, because history is about to be written, and Iñigo Anton is leading the charge for the Philippines in the electrifying world of e-racing.
