Audie Menzi, a proud Igorot football player from Tublay and Kapangan, Benguet, has shown appreciation to the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) for the trust given to him to be included in the men's national football team Azkals.
In an exclusive interview with a local news station, Audie Menzi mentioned that he received an invitation from the PFF for available slots in the Azkals set to compete in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Mitsubishi Electric Cup last December.
The 28-year-old defender has also pursued his dedication to improve his game through even more rigorous training and practice to successfully join the Philippine Team.
Menzi also described how special he felt when he was added to the final lineup of the Azkals especially when he walked and toured the football pitch wearing the Philippine Team Uniform and as they sang "Lupang Hinirang" before each game.
The athlete also shared his experience in the last game of Philippine Men's National Team Captain Stephan Schrock where he was also selected in the starting line-up of the Azkals against Indonesia.
According to the Benguet native, he will never forget Schrock's advice to him to continue to experience the joy of playing by giving his best in all football matches.
Menzi is currently in Metro Manila to return to training for his team Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo where he was given recognition by Benguet Gov. Melchor Diclas on Monday.
The multi-titled soccer player is a native of La Trinidad, Benguet, and played for the Benguet State University team in elementary school and went to Manila to study high school to college at Far Eastern University where they became the 2015 UAAP champions.
