Lorena Domanog-Clerc, an Igorota from Sagada, Mountain Province is one of the "100 Most Influential Women in the World" by the San Francisco-based Filipina Women's Network (FWN).
The 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World Award™ recognizes women of Philippine ancestry who are influencing the face of leadership in the global workplace, having reached status for outstanding work in their respective professions, industries and communities. They are recognized for their achievement and contributions to society, femtorship and legacy. The award honors Filipina Women who are changing the face of power in their local communities and in their adopted countries they now call home.
The Igorota was recognized by the organization as a "Behind the Scenes Leader" at the 16th Leadership Summit last year.
The "Behind the Scenes Leader" award category recognizes Filipina women who may not have the big title or corner office, but is a driving force behind the success of a social cause or life issue, a community organization’s project or initiative; or her employer’s organizational business unit or department. This category is also for small business owners and social enterprises who may have started a business driven by an innovative idea or a passion for service and whose surpluses are reinvested in the community. Someone who has gone beyond the call of duty to devote time, energy, and resources to advocate for those who need a voice, or support the organization she represents or works for.
