"Shayla "Gawani" Reyes, Magna Cum Laude, York University, Toronto, Ontario. A 5th generation great great grandchild (reckoned from the 1880 couple Cawis and Gunnayan of Poblacion, Sagada and Sukib, Besao). Bearer of our grandmother's name Gawani, she will chart mastery of Kankanaey indigenous art (i e weaving) with Western indigenous design. This contributes to inter-generational equity - biodiversity protection thru elders-youth knowledge transfer, in a cycle like life itself", Giovanni shared on Facebook.
