The city government of Baguio is inviting couples especially those who are living together without the benefit of marriage to join the mass wedding on September 29 at the historic Baguio Convention Center.

Coralie Dulnuan of the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Office announced during the weekly kapihan forum that the mass wedding is one of the highlights of Family Month and the city's 107th Charter Day anniversary celebrations.

Interested couples who are more than 25 years old and have been living together for more than five years are required to secure the following: community tax certification; birth certificates; certificate of no marriage from the Philippine Statistics Authority, and an affidavit of cohabitation from the Public Attorney's Office or any legal officer.

She encouraged couples to visit their office so that they can assist in securing the necessary documents needed.

Mayor Mauricio Domogan will solemnize the marriage.

Other events lined up for the Family Month celebration are Family Enrichment Program, Family ZUMBonding, "Family Potlucks" (A Family Day in the Barangay), Training on Basic Home Care for Elderlies, Family Health and Lifestyle Development, Marriage Enrichment Seminar, Family forum, Training Workshop for Teachers, Family Health Fair, and Launching of Community Based Emergency Response for Persons with Disabilities

The theme of this year's celebration is "Families, Healthy Lives and Sustainable Future," for a stronger family which is the basic unit of a society.
