MARAWI VETERAN, FLIGHT SURGEON, COVID 19 WARRIOR and SOLDIER... Rest in Peace, MAJOR ALDRIN C. SUKIL-AP, Medical Corps, Philippine Air Force.

Medical frontliner Dr. Sukil-ap, only 42 years old, from Benguet, succumbed Tuesday, September 22, after a hard battle against COVID-19. He could be the first COVID casualty in the AFP's Medical Corps.

He was also a Marawi hero and had been deployed may times in Jolo as flight surgeon, ensuring that the wounded and sick were properly transported to a definitive treatment facility.

His colleagues describe him as a "most sought after" medical officer "because hindi siya tumatangging tumingin ng pasyente anytime of the day" and "is well loved by young and old patients alike because he was a kindhearted medical officer." He was also described as very health conscious.

His last assignment was at Headquarters, PAF in Pasay City, although he still accommodated patients at the Air Force General Hospital as an Internal Medicine specialist.

Major Sukil-ap's remains lie in state at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and loved ones, especially to his wife, Major Sheila Pineda Sukil-ap, also from the Medical Corps.

Thank you for your great service to the nation, Sir.
