Abra barangay official shot dead; wife, sister wounded

Motorcycle-riding gunmen shot and killed a village councilman, and wounded his sister and his spouse, the incumbent village chair, on Sunday afternoon in Pidigan town in Abra province.

Kagawad Victor Pisco of Barangay Immuli was declared dead on arrival at a health facility at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Cordillera police stated.

His wife, Immuli chair Elida Sales-Pisco, and sister, Myrna Pisco-Vasquez, are being dealt with in a hospital in Abra.

Police said the three were on an Elf truck traversing the Pidigan-Pilar road in Barangay Monggoc when men on a bike overtook them and opened fire.

Forensic investigators found two spent shells from a cal. 45 pistol at the crime scene.
