Finally, the first and "longest" PRDP Farm-to-Market Road in the region has been inaugurated and Turned over, today, February 8, 2023.

The residents of Tadian and Besao will finally experience speedy transportation and delivery of agricultural products to the main marketplaces and the contribution of the province in attaining food security in the country will be enhanced as the 4.154 kilometers Improved Besao-Nacawang and Tadian-Mabalite Farm-to-Market Road which was dubbed the first and 'longest' Philippine Rural Development Project in the region was inaugurated and turned over at Toyakpa, Batayan, Tadian, Mountain Province which was attended by Director Cameron P. Odsey, Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr, Vice Governor Francis o. Tauli, Mayor Constito S. Masweng of Tadian, and PLTCOL CRISANTE P SADINO, MPPPO, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration.

Engr. Edward B. Likigan, Provincial Engineer of Mountain Province disclosed that the project was the 'longest' FMR in the region for it took eight years to be completed. This was started in 2014 and it was completed on December 19, 2022.

This longest FRM is a project jointly implemented by the World Bank through the Government of the Philippines - Department of Agriculture, the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), and the Provincial Local Government Unit of Mountain Province.

The barangay officials of the main end-users of the project expressed their appreciation to the government officials and prayed for the construction of the other segments of the project, the soonest as possible.

Mayor Masweng conveyed his gratitude for the realization of the project and for the cooperation of all the community members in the negotiation process on the issues of the Road Right of Way. He further stressed that they are willing to take the responsibilities and do their counterparts for the continuation of the other segments of the project.

The congressman as represented by sir Dionisio Wacdisen asked the constituents for full support and partnership with the projects of the government. "This project broadens our horizons and improves our perspective in life. See the goodness in all the projects so that they will see the goodness in you," he concluded.

The Governor also thanked the Department of Agriculture for the PRDP and all who supported the project.

Director Odsey recognized the full support of the local government officials and appealed for the maintenance of the project.

The project total cost after repackaged Php91,857,453.99, and the budget was sourced from World Bank (LP) P73,338,253.30; GOP (DA) p9,167,281.66; and PLGU P 9,351,919.02 (with an additional equity of P184,637.36).

The ceremony was also attended by the 'maiingel' nga heads of various agencies and MPPPO personnel who provided security, led by PMAJ ALYSSON F KALANG-AD, FC, 2nd PMFC and PCPT JULIUS YAOS, 1st PMFC, 1st Platoon Leader.
