2nd Lieutenant Lei Vanette Alangui is a proud Igorota from the Applai tribe of Sagada, Mountain Province, Philippines. She is one of the elite pilots of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) who operates the A-29B Super Tucano, a turboprop attack aircraft.

Alangui is a registered nurse who joined the PAF in 2018. She underwent rigorous training for 15 months, and graduated as a pilot in 2019. She is now assigned to the 15th Strike Wing, which is responsible for conducting counterinsurgency and special warfare operations.

Alangui is proud to be a part of the PAF and to be able to serve her country. She is confident that the A-29B Super Tucano will be an effective tool in the fight against insurgency.
