Bhong Balisong, an honest taxi driver in the city of Baguio returned a lost bundle of cash worth P60,000 to a passenger who accidentally left it inside his taxi on December 9, 2019.

The honest driver recounted that he found the bundle of cash left in his taxi after dropping off his passenger.

Instead of keeping the money for himself, Balisong shortly posted on the Facebook page of the Baguio Sumbungan Forums to notify the public about the cash he found inside his taxi.

Owner Mark Madalang, a retired police officer, contacted him immediately and they arranged a meeting at Bombo Radyo Station - to pick up the money and also praised Mr. Balisong for his loyalty live on air.

According to Balisong, he is not interested in keeping the money because he knows someone owns it and they are working hard to earn it.

Mr. Bhong Balisong, an honest driver returned P60,000 cash found inside his taxi to the owner, retired Police officer Mark Madalang.

Balisong's honesty truly reflects the "Inayan" culture of the Igorot people that prompted him to hand over the bundle of cash to the owner.

The Baguio City Government passed a resolution commending Bhong Balisong for his exemplary act of honesty and fairness in returning cash to the rightful owner.

"Mr. Balisong's act of honesty and uprightness elevates the status of taxi drivers in the City of Baguio and is worthy of commendation, praise, and emulation by all taxi drivers as well as the constituents of the City of Pines," part of the resolution read.

Indeed, Mr. Balisong's gesture is a sentiment that Baguio City Taxi Drivers are the best in the Philippines.

"Taxi drivers in the City of Baguio are known for their honesty particularly in returning exact change without demanding additional charges from passengers." the resolution added.
