CONGRATULATIONS Easter Wahayna-Pablo for a WELL DESERVED PROMOTION 🏅👏👏👏

In September 2020, she was designated as Officer In-Charge (OIC) of the Baguio City Public Library (BCPL).

On August 2021, she was officially appointed by Baguio City Mayor Honorable Benjamin B. Magalong as CITY LIBRARIAN of Baguio City (BCPL).

Before her promotion, she received a commendation award and achievers award given by the City Government of Baguio in a form of a City Council Resolution handed over by Honorable Benjamin B. Magalong and the Provincial Government of the Province of Ifugao in a form of Provincial Board Resolution given by Honorable Vice-Governor Glenn Prudenciano respectively to Easter Wahayna-Pablo on August 16, 2021. She was given an awards due to her excellent achievement in her profession.

In recognition of her efforts, the National Library of the Philippines, Public Library Division, (NLP-PLD) has awarded second prize to Baguio City Public Library officer-in-charge Easter Wahayna-Pablo in this year's prestigious "Search for Gawad Parangal sa Natatanging Propesyonal na Tagapangasiwa sa Pampublikong Aklatan".

Mayor Benjamin Magalong was informed recently of Pablo's feat in a letter by NLP-PLD Chief Blesila Velasco.

"It is an honor to work with professionals of high caliber whose hard work and dedication produce superb results," the letter stated.

During the management committee meeting, July 6, at Baguio Convention Center, the Mayor congratulated Pablo for her achievement that he said not only brings honor to herself and her family but to the entire city of Baguio.

The City Council of Baguio had passed a resolution commending the OIC city librarian and also the Provincial Government of the Province of Ifugao.

Blesila invited the Mayor and Pablo to the virtual awarding ceremonies on August 25 during the 1st ASEAN Virtual Regional Conference of Public Librarians where the latter will be receiving a Plaque of Recognition and Medal.

It is the first time for a public librarian in the city and Cordillera region to ever receive the prestigious award.

A graduate of bachelor of science in education major in library science from SLU, Pablo also has a Masters degree in library and information technology, cum laude, from the same institution and a Masters in Public Administration from Benguet State University.

She garnered 4th place in the 1999 board examination for professional librarians and is a registered librarian and licensed professional teacher.

Pablo has been with the city government for more than 20 years and is the Baguio City Public Library OIC since September last year.

Pre-Covid-19 pandemic programs and services she initiated include school-based reading programs, barangay visitations for the establishment of a reading center, in-house library orientations, research for the library's modernization, and more.

Those she spearheaded during the pandemic are PLVIRA (Public Library Virtual Reference Assistance); online library and information services month activities, online contests and trivia, book drive for reading centers in far flung areas in collaboration with Project 360, book lover's club and provide support to the city's pandemic efforts.

Pablo is inviting the public to like and follow the Baguio City Public Library facebook page for any latest information and updates.
