Police Staff Sergeant Aldrine Agpad, a 36-year-old member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team in Tabuk City, met a tragic end in a suspected hit-and-run incident while pursuing his morning jog.

Tabuk City, Kalinga - In a devastating turn of events, the city of Tabuk is grappling with the loss of a dedicated police officer. Police Staff Sergeant Aldrine Agpad, a 36-year-old member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team in Tabuk City, met a tragic end in a suspected hit-and-run incident while pursuing his morning jog on Friday, December 1, 2023.

Early Morning Routine Turns Fatal

Agpad, committed to both physical fitness and his duty as a law enforcement officer, left his residence after 3:00 a.m. for a routine jog. His intention was to engage in physical activity before reporting for duty. However, by 6:30 a.m., he was discovered injured and lifeless on the national highway in Barangay Nambaran.

Swift Response and Unfortunate Outcome

Promptly rushed to the hospital, Agpad was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. The circumstances surrounding his demise are shrouded in suspicion as investigators believe he fell victim to a hit-and-run incident, evidenced by debris found near his body.

Kalinga Police Spokesperson, PCapt. Ruff Manganip, shed light on the ongoing investigation. According to Manganip, a local resident reported hearing a loud crash around 3:41 a.m. Although the noise was significant, the resident refrained from investigating further. This piece of information becomes crucial in piecing together the timeline of events.

Search for the Culprit Intensifies

As the community mourns the loss of an officer committed to maintaining public safety, law enforcement intensifies efforts to locate the vehicle responsible. Authorities are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage to trace the movements of the unidentified vehicle.

"Agpanpanawagan tayo latta iti tulong iti publiko nga nu adda man iti makita da nga nadadael iti hood iti maysa a lugan ket itext da latta iti hotline tayo," Manganip emphasized.
