The Kalinga Provincial Council ratified the use of P10 million in funding to deter the spread of the coronavirus disease in the province.

The Kalinga Provincial Council approved the use of P10 million in funding to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease in the province.

P5 million will be used for the purchase of equipment in the health sector while an additional P5 million will be for relief operations.

Some of the funds came from the province's 2020 Quick Response Fund.

According to the local Kalinga government, the province is expected to receive additional assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera.

Kalinga distributes relief goods to poor residents most affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

In this regard, Gov. Ferdinand Tubban says the provincial government is doing everything reasonable to prevent the COVID-19 from penetrating Kalinga.
